Youth refugee tutor & adult conversational volunteer—Tutored elementary-aged refugee children from countries such as Kenya and Democratic Republic of Congo. Demonstrated mathematical reasoning, verbal communication, and reading comprehension skills through teaching hands-on practice activities. Provided verbal language practice and educational support for adult refugees as they practiced their English language skills.
Link crew member—Served as part of a highly-competitive upperclassmen student group who planned and implemented freshman orientation programming, as well as supported freshman students in small group capacities.
FBLA chapter officer—Served two years as a chapter officer with Future Business Leaders of America in leadership positions on various event planning committees for dozens of community service events. Coordinated promotional activities, created social media plans, distributed important information to student members, and communicated with community members on a daily basis, addressing any questions or concerns and responding promptly to volunteer opportunities for the organization. Oversaw documentation of volunteer assignments, member registration paperwork, meeting minutes, and monthly newsletters, as well as the organization of other pertinent community service event documents.
SouderTHON committee lead—served as on the event committee for a local pediatric cancer dance marathon fundraiser to benefit the Peter Powerhouse Foundation. Responsibilities included coordinating student volunteer assignments, overseeing marketing/public communication with outlets in the community, and logging approximately $40,000 of cash, check, and online donations.
UrbanPromise—Spent a week assisting at a youth ministry summer camp for underprivileged children grades five through eight in Camden, NJ. Served as a buddy to elementary and middle school children, as well as assisting with class teaching, document organization, and facility maintenance.
Special Olympics—Volunteered with the Special Olympics for their events at Souderton Area High School. Assisted setting up events, preparing facilities, timing races, and distributing medals.
DMC Mentorship Group—Worked with a team of students as part of an educational mentorship group to gain non-profit marketing experience through the creation of a pro-bono promotional campaign for Keystone Opportunity Center, a local food bank and homeless shelter. Presented comprehensive final marketing plan for Keystone's largest annual fundraising event to a panel of internship advisors, Keystone representatives, and community professionals.
Harleysville Tennis Club—Supervised and coordinated group tennis clinics and provided skill-based technical tennis instruction to children ages four through twelve.
